CHELTENHAM 2013 - CHELTENHAM GOLD CUP

1.30 JCB Triumph Hurdle (2m 1f)

Our Conor leads the betting with an excellent record with 3 wins at this distance between November and February. Our Conor is an excellent performer and likes the softer going. Rolling Star is a close second favourite along with Far West. Rolling Star was very impressive at Cheltenham in January, winning at this distance in a field of 8. Far West has also prepared very well for Cheltenham and has more experience than the other two front runners with 4 wins out of 4 races at this distance, winning at Chepstow, Cheltenham twice, and Ascot between October and February. Far West is certainly our choice of the front runners here.

Diakali is great odds considering recent form. Diakali has won twice and finished 2nd at this distance in recent months. Hidden Justice has a lot of experience at shorter distances and stepped up to this distance well with a win at Catterick in February. Kashmir Peak may be worth a look. Kashmir Peak's odds probably reflect the fact that the rider was unseated in the last outing at Musselburgh, however performed well in late 2012. Lac Fontana does not have a win at this distance yet, but may feature in the places.

Stocktons Wing has been well run in 5 races at this sort of distance and has been pretty consistent. Stocktons Wing is well worth a speculative place bet at these odds. Vasco Du Ronceray also has a few races at this level, and could perform if the conditions are soft.

WinDrawWin Prediction - Far West to Win. Stocktons Wing and Diakali to Place.
