Sivola De Sivola and Our Father both head the large field in this race. For a favourite, Sivola De Sivola has surprisingly struggled in the past at Cheltenham, finishing 4th in January, 5th in November, and 7th in January 2011. Our Father is a consistent 6 year old, and warrants favourite status in what will be a first Cheltenham outing.
Poungach is 10/1 and is stepping up to this distance. However, Poungach is a top performer with some impressive wins. Grand Vision is a tough finisher, preferring soft to heavy ground and impressed at Haydock in February, winning in a field of 19 runners on heavy going. Get Me Out Of Here is a horse not used to this distance, and is fairly inconsistent, so at 10/1 is probably best left alone.
Sonofvic has impressed in the past but is relative inexperiences. Perhaps worth an each way bet at 11/1 though.
Of the rest of the field, Thehillofuisneach at 14/1 has done well on soft ground, and Alfie Sherrin has been way too inconsistent to even consider placing. The rest of this large field does not have a great track record, but in a race with this number of runners, anything around 16/1 may be worth a place bet.
WinDrawWin Tips: Our Father to win. Sonofvic to place.
