In one of the largest fields of the Festival, two runners start this race as favourites at 10/1, namely Get Me Out Of Here and Toner D'Oudairies. Toner D'Oudairies does not have that impressive a record to warrant favourite status and also favours the soft ground, so may drift in the odds. Get Me Out Of Here is much more consistent and also likes the going to be good, so is perhaps a better bet to win this race if you are backing a favourite.
Batonnier at 12/1 enjoys this distance and has been consistent in 2011 and 2012. Batonnier may be worth a place, if not a win bet here.
Bourne is also 12/1 and of similar consistency to Batonnier. However Bourne has proven form on both heavy and good to firm going, so is a better all rounder.
Our Father is relatively inexperienced to the rest of the field, but enjoys soft ground and has been impressive in the last 4 races with two wins and two second places. Our Father is an unknown and worth a shot at this price.
Carlito Brigante is inconsistent, but has been run at different distances. It is difficult to judge how Carlito Brigante will perform, so probably best avoided at 14/1.
A number of other runners make up the middle of the field at 14/1 and 16/1. Third Intention is inconsistent, but regularly runs at this distance. Ixora runs well on good to firm ground, and could be worth and each way bet. Ixora is more consistent that a lot of the rest of the middle of the field.
Smad Place and Sonofvic seem too inexperienced to pose a challenge here. Native Gallery won at Uttoxeter and Aintree in November and December and may well be worth a place bet.
