In a large field, a number of runners have a good chance of winning this first race of Ladies Day. Alfie Spinner and Soll go out favourites at 7/1 with most bookmakers. Alfie Spinner has been consistent in recent races, but does not have a great win record and has not run a race of this distance, so may not have the experience to warrant favourite status.
Soll has impressed in the few races it has entered. However it is a largely unknown so should be treated with caution at such a low price in a large field.
Harry The Viking has won in smaller fields, and looks impressive at 8/1, however again Harry The Viking has not been tested at this distance.
Teaforthree has performed well under AP Mccoy and has perfomed well across different conditions from heavy to good. Teaforthree is an all rounder and looks like a good bet at 10/1.
Fists Of Fury and Allee Garde follow in the odds at around 12/1. Both have performed consistently of late but have not won many races. Both may be good each way bets.
Of the rest of the field, Viking Blond is a good performer on soft and heavy ground, so may warrant a bet if the conditions favour. Baile Anrai is another horse not really tested at this distance and in a field of this size.
Strongbows Legend at 16/1 seems unpredictable and should be avoided in our opinion, whereas Universal Soldier is probably a better bet at around the same price for those looking for each way value.
