16:25 The Wokingham Stakes (6f)

In this large field of runners it might be worth looking down the field for a good value speculative win here. Alben Star is favourite, but we would be cautious on this runner given that many of its run outs have been on the all weather tracks. Alben Star may struggle in this large field on the turf flat. Maarek comes into this race with two recent good wins in April and May so brings some form into the race. Maarek is certainly a challenger here, and a better bet than Alben Star in our opinion. Mac's Power is well experienced at this distance, but is too unpredictable for us. Mac's Power may place, but it is hard to back this runner in such a large field. King of Jazz has had two recent 3rd place finishes and is also used to running 7f races, so could stay the distance here. Mirza is on good form, with two good wins in June, and Mirza is a good all rounder, also winning on soft ground. At 16/1 Mirza is great value here. High Standing is an older and experienced campaigner, but does not have the record that suggests a win here. Lightning Cloud is a useful 4 year old who is used to running 7f races, and has a 45% win rate, so well worth a place bet here at good odds. Bartolomeu is a young 3 year old, used to running on the all weather surfaces, so only speculative bets should be considered. Cape Classic is consistent. We consider Cape Classic a great bet for a place here. Desert Law has dipped in form of late, and not as good value as similar priced runners. Elusivity does not have a great record, and should be avoided in our opinion. Experience does not have many wins to date, and is used to running in races with a much smaller field, so this will be a new experience for Experience. Pearl Ice have performed well on the soft ground, but does not seem to like the good going, so may be worth a place bet if the rain starts to come down at Ascot.

WinDrawWin Tips: Maarek to win. Mac's Power to place.
