Finian's Rainbow leads the betting at 11/10. With a 69% win rate and a great win at Cheltenham, it is clear to see why Finian's Rainbow is favourite here. It is diffcult to see any other horse challenging here, with the exception of Albertas Run at 11/4. Albertas Run is an experienced 11 year old who finished 2nd at Cheltenham behind the impressive Riverside Theatre. Albertas Run likes the good to soft going, which is how Aintree is running this year, and has a great career win rate at 44% over 34 races. At almost 3 times the odds value, Albertas Run is probably a better bet than Finian's Rainbow.
Poquelin is 8/1. Poquelin also had a good Cheltenham, but prior to that was quite inconsistent and unpredictable. If you are just going on recent form then Poquelin is worth an each way bet, but in our opinion does not have a chance of challeging here.
Wishfull Thinking is 11/1 as is Kauto Stone. Wishfull Thinking's form is not on the up, falling at Cheltenham and not having a great 2012. However, Wishfull Thinking's career win rate is good at 39%, but recent form in our opinion does not warrant a bet here. Kauto Stone was well backed at Cheltenham but fell, and has not shown a lot of the potential people think Kauto Stone has.
Forpadydeplasterer and Kalahari King are 16/1, and both do not have any sort of recent form to warrant a bet here.
