4.50 Betfred Manifesto Novices' Chase (2m 4f)

Al Ferof is hot favourite to win this race at 11/10. Al Ferof was 4th in the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham, however Al Ferof's recent form before Cheltenham was very impressive. With a career win rate of 54%, Al Ferof certainly deserves favourite status here in a field of only 5 runners. However, at 11/10 it may be worth looking down the field for some place value.

Pepite Rose is 11/4 and Menorah 9/2. Pepite Rose was not run at Cheltenham, but has had an impressive 2012, winning 4 races in similar sized fields. Pepite Rose likes the good and good to firm ground, so may pose a challenge to Al Ferof if the going suits. Menorah has a 47% career win rate and was 3rd at Cheltenham. Menorah certainly has the history to deserve a price of 9/2 here and could challenge in this small field.

Cristal Bonus is 7/1. Cristal Bonus did not run well at Cheltenham, but cannot be written out of the running here with an impressive career.

Alasi is 14/1. Even with an ok career record and a 4th place at Cheltenham, the bookies and betting exchanges do not seem to favour Alasi, with prices as high as 20/1 elsewhere.

WinDrawWin Tips: Pepite Rose to win. Al Ferof to place.
