Grumeti leads the field at 7/2. Grumeti is impressive, finishing 3rd at Cheltenham and experienced, even for a 4 year old, at this distance and has been known to like the soft going, so check on the day before betting.
Countrywide Flame and Dodging Bullets are both 4/1. Countrywide Flame again likes the good or good to soft going, and won at Cheltenham, hence deserving odds of 4/1. Countrywide Flame is perhaps better value than Grumeti if you are purely looking at recent form from Cheltenham. Dodging Bullets is another 4 year old, but in our opinion lacks the experience that the other two horses above have. Dodging Bullets again performed well at Cheltenham, finishing 4th, but is more of an unknown than other runners in this race.
Pearl Swan is 5/1. Pearl Swan fell at Cheltenham, but has looked strong at this distance this year at Cheltenham and Taunton. Pearl Swan may be worth an outside bet for a win here, or a place bet.
Sadler's Risk is 15/2. Sadler's Risk was also run and Cheltenham and showed well, finishing 6th. Hinterland is 8/1 and Lyvius 9/1. Hinterland has not been run since January, so may lack recent form. Lyvius is as high at 15/1 on some of the betting exchanges, and is largely an unknown with only 3 races run, finishing 1st twice and 2nd once though and with Barry Geraghty on board who had a great Cheltenham, who knows, Lyvius could be a dark horse here!
WinDrawWin Tips: Countrywide Flame to win. Pearl Swan to place.
